Yep!  Time flies!  Our 3 sons before Ke'Nia

Worn swimsuits..Tired kids and grumpy mom...a few added pounds thanks to ice cream and movie treats...messy house...bedtime??...empty pocketbook...messy car...no schedule...mosquito bites...cousins...WHEW!  That describes our Summer!  Ready for the kids to go back??  School Clothes..Check, School Supplies..Check,  Registration..Check, but no, NOT ready!  Having older kids I realize how quickly they grow and how short the time is to make memories.    If only I could capture time in a bottle hmmm...Well it is what it is, so ready or not it's time to get thinking Back To School.  Doesn't mean the fun needs to stop, just have to organize it now :)  So here's to the last few days of summer break with fall fun just around the corner!

Some Noteworthy Days To Celebrate!

Some fun things to celebrate this week if you are needing somethings to do!  It's always fun to celebrate the uncelebrated so here is this weeks list:

July 9th National Sugar Cookie Day (maybe make and share..I'm always good for a few lol!) I have pinned a few different recipes..some being healthier, some being easy (no cutting), some that claim to be the PERFECT sugar cookie, and a pretty cute easy idea for some flower cookies. http://pinterest.com/tammymartin/celebrating-the-uncelebrated/
July 10th Teddy Bear Picnic Day (always a fun thing to do!)
July 11 Swimming Pool Day (perfect day for a swim since the weatherman predicts 103 degree weather!)
July 12 Etch-a-sketch Birthday!  1960 is the year it was born
July 13 International Puzzle Day Stay indoors where it's nice and cool and do a puzzle

I think we will try to do a few..how about you?!!!

I'm Bored?? Sounds like a good thing!

Being bored can't be to bad of a thing can it??  I'm am ready for the lazy days of summer!  Too many things going on and I'm ready to chill!  My house will thank me and my pocket book.  So we are not planning in advance any activities for July.  I would love to post for you  if any one wants to plan out activities for the month of July.  If anyone wants to head up the bike parade let me know and I can get the word out.  I hope your summer is how you pictured it to be!  I would love to post pictures of all your fun...Keep busy and remember being bored is not always a bad thing...it just makes your kids be creative :)

It's Official...Summer is Here!

 Home from Flaming Gorge! Great time with Great Friends and Awesome teenage boys! Took the Dam tour...watched world class wake boarding...saw some landscape changes (boulders pushed into the lake :) ) saw a few fish caught...ate like teenagers....witnessed some crazy cliff divers.. caught a scorpion...played who can peg the other with a sling shot and a few grapes... going to miss these boys! Last big party, now time to say goodbye as they start heading off on their missions :)  ...That sums up my week!  Hope yours was as great!!  I can hardly believe we are at the end of June and summer is now in full swing.  Days are growing shorter :(  Could do without this heat....but I'm sure I'll  miss it come December :)  So here is what is on next weeks agenda:

A peek at next weeks fun....

Make it Monday....Decorate your Bikes, Scooters, Trikes, Big Wheels, Unicycles, Wagons and faces for the 4th of July bike parade! This will happen on the 3rd.  I'm thinking in the morning and if there is interest, maybe playing a few games and having a picnic lunch??  Feed back would be awesome!  It's not to fun to plan a big event and have nobody participate :)  Post a comment and so we can decide if we want to keep it just to the parade or a busy afternoon.

Week of June18th - 22nd

We are off to explore Flaming Gorge!  Summer has been busy for us so far, but after this it will slow down.  With swim lessons going on things have been quite tricky for some of you that have wanted to join us, so hopefully you will have some time to catch us for some summer fun in the next few weeks.  Mandy Wallace may set some things up for the week and I'm sure you will hear about it if she does.  If not.....happy mid-june and hopefully your week is filled with creativity, exploration and a little bit of service :)

The Countdown Is ON!!

So Moms..less than.2 weeks! Less than 2 Weeks left to get ready for fun!!  The goal??  To NOT hear the words "I'm bored"  For our family I have given every day of the week a name so we will always have an idea of what is coming for the day.  Having a bit of a plan keeps the whining away.   Junes Theme will be Explore and Create and we will work on the photo challenge Posted in previous post) throughout the month.  Mondays are Make it Mondays, Tuesdays are Take a Hike Tuesdays, Wednesdays are Wet Wednesdays, Thursdays are Tour it Thursdays and Fridays are Friend-ly Fridays where we will make an effort to try to do some sort of service or friendly gestures.  I'm working on out calendar now.  Thursdays I thought would be a great day to go!  Please feel free to join us.  I am going to try to keep up on posting at least a week ahead of time of the places we'll go.  We are going to try to Hike different places along the Wasatch front on Tuesdays, I will also post those.  But for now put on your Calendars SIDEWALK CHALK ART to celebrate the last day of school!  After school on the last day make sure you have your kids decorate the canvas in front of your home.  If you need ideas on what to chalk...how about SUMMER!!  Then take a stroll that evening to check out all the artist in our neighborhood.  I would LOVE for you to send your pictures through out the summer and any proud moments!  Mt. Green has so many kids to brag about!  Happy Summer :)
